Something like this was done on mythbusters.  You could probably find it on youtube.  It's possible, but extremely difficult and theres no modern technology that could do it with any sort of portable device to say the least

I know that the thing in the trailer is impossible.

I still think that it could be curved...maybe if the inertia of the loaded gun was going in the opposite direction of the groves...?

And that bullets naturally should curve over long distances.

It's not possible to do in the manner they show in the movie, however I'm sure it would be possible with a modified gun and bullets.

The only gun that can curve a bullet is a musket. And it's not a bullet, it's a musket ball.

Over a certain distance all bullets will curve. Just not the way you're speaking of. Read up on ballistics.

From the gun itself?

No.

From another external force? Possible.

Of course it is possible.  All bullets curve, they curve because they are being pulled by gravity and have a velocity (usually) at angle to this thus they curve.

Imparting any other velocity on a bullet (or any object in motion) will result in the same thing so yes you can cause a bullet to curve by moving the barrel while you shoot.  Although this will almost negligible movement in that vector compared to the force imparted by the propellant.  Thus it isn't going to "curve" around a target because one did that.
